Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is preparing for the launch of an upcoming affordable smartphone. The company is expected to introduce a new device from its number series later this month. While the specific name of the device has not been disclosed, Xiaomi and Redmi officials have been sharing teaser videos that strongly indicate the arrival of the Redmi 12. In addition, a teaser posted on the official Redmi India Twitter account provides a glimpse of the rear panel design of the upcoming smartphone.
These teasers strongly suggest that the Redmi 12 will be launched in India in the near future. Xiaomi has already released the Redmi 12 in certain global markets. The device is a 4G smartphone and is likely to be priced at around ₹12,000 in India. The Redmi 12 will be yet another budget-friendly offering from Xiaomi, priced under Rs 15,000 in India. The phone is anticipated to make its debut in July, as hinted by Xiaomi’s teasers, although the exact launch date has not been revealed. The latest teaser also confirms the design of the rear panel, showcasing three circular cutouts for the triple-camera setup. Additionally, the phone features a USB Type-C port and a speaker grille at the bottom edge.
Moreover, the teaser video for the Redmi 12 showcases the Polar Silver color variant, which was launched in Thailand. Xiaomi is expected to offer the phone in three color options, similar to the ones already available for purchase in Thailand: Midnight Black, Sky Blue, and Silver.
