Crunchyroll Boosts Platform with Exclusive Streaming of Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO

Crunchyroll is set to elevate its platform with the addition of Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO, the latest installment in the globally renowned anime franchise. The film will exclusively debut on Crunchyroll’s streaming service on July 12, 2023. Indian anime fans can look forward to streaming and enjoying the film in India, complete with Hindi dubbing and subtitles.

Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO boasts the involvement and full commitment of Akira Toriyama, the original creator of Dragon Ball, who contributed to the film’s original story, screenplay, and character design.

This film marked Crunchyroll’s first globally-distributed theatrical release, premiering in over 100 countries and available in 13 dubbed languages and 29 subtitled languages. It achieved remarkable success, grossing $96 million worldwide and ranking as the fourth highest-grossing anime film in the US.

Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO is the second film in the Dragon Ball Super franchise, following the release of Dragon Ball Super: Broly in 2018, which captivated fans worldwide.

The Red Ribbon Army, once defeated by Son Goku, has given rise to individuals who carry on its spirit and have created the ultimate Androids, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2. These Androids call themselves “Super Heroes” and begin attacking Piccolo and Gohan. What is the New Red Ribbon Army’s objective? In the face of imminent danger, it is time to awaken the Super Hero!

The Dragon Ball phenomenon originated in 1984 when Akira Toriyama’s popular manga premiered in Shueisha’s “Weekly Shonen Jump,” becoming a top-ranked title during its 10.5-year publication run. The manga’s popularity has since soared, with over 260 million copies sold worldwide. Dragon Ball’s success expanded beyond manga to include TV animation, movies, games, and merchandising. Now, 38 years after the manga’s launch, Dragon Ball continues to evolve and will reach new heights with this highly anticipated large-scale movie.
