In fifth place, there is Lionel Messi with an expected yearly salary of $53.7 million.

A new destination for the Argentine star

Besides Al-Hilal’s offer, the star forward was also expected to return to his former club, Barcelona. Fans had high hopes regarding the same, which were ultimately crushed by his decision to join David Beckham’s Inter Miami.
