The youngster received a promotion to the first team this season, and made 12 Premier League appearances, playing 723 minutes. He also made a couple of appearances in the Champions League, scoring his first goal with the senior team in the process.

His goal came in the match against Sevilla, when he was making his debut. He became the youngest Englishman to score in the Champions League after Jude Bellingham in the process.

With Kyle Walker currently at his peak, regular opportunities for Rico Lewis might be hard to come by. But with a busy schedule ahead of them next season, rotation will be needed. And Lewis could receive minutes in that manner next season.

He is expected to be the new long-term right-back for the team, and follows the likes of Phil Foden into the first team fold.
