According to recent reports, it is increasingly likely that Apple will finally unveil its long-awaited AR/VR headset at the upcoming WWDC event in June. This aligns with the predictions of industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who now expresses a high level of confidence in the announcement and states that Apple is well-prepared for this momentous reveal.

Initially, Kuo had indicated that production of the headset had been delayed until the third quarter of 2023, leading to speculation that it might not make its debut at WWDC. However, Kuo has now revised his stance on the matter.

In a recent report, he emphasized that Apple’s new headset’s unveiling next month is expected to have a positive impact on the share price of companies involved in the supply chain.

Kuo specifically highlighted five crucial components of the device, which he considers to be the most costly materials: the 4K micro-OLED displays, dual M2-based processors, the headset casing, 12 optical cameras for hand movement tracking, and the external power supply. These components are supplied by reputable companies such as Sony, TSMC, Everwin Precision, Cowell, and Goretek, respectively.

As for pricing, industry sources suggest that the headset may start at around $3,000. Consequently, Apple is likely to position the device primarily towards developers, content creators, and professionals, rather than targeting the general consumer market initially.

It has been reported that Apple anticipates selling just one headset per day per retail store and has informed suppliers that it expects to achieve sales of approximately seven to 10 million units during the first year of availability.

The eagerly anticipated announcement is expected to take place during Apple’s WWDC keynote event, scheduled for Monday, June 5. However, there have been hints that selected individuals outside of Apple may have already been given a glimpse of the remarkable device, adding to the excitement surrounding its upcoming official debut.
