MI defeats RR in the historic 1000th IPL match

IPL 2023 has been setting new heights with high score sensations and Wednesday night was no exception. In a magnificent game of cricket, MI chased down 214 runs in Mohali to steal the victory by six wickets.

Another high-scoring game in IPL 2023: MI chases down a mammoth total

PBKS were sent to bat first by opponent skipper Rohit Sharma after he won the toss. It was a great batting display by Punjab batters Liam Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma that helped the team put up a staggering 214 runs.

Livingstone was terrific as he smashed a 82 off 42 balls, hitting the ball out of the park four times and with seven boundaries. In the 19th over, he hit MI bowler Jofra Archer for 27 runs!

The young Indian talent, Jitesh Sharma, was impressive once again as he contributed an eye-pleasing 49 off 27.

It was a great entertainment for the amazing Mohali audience however not sufficient to restrict the MI batters before the target. 

Ishan Kishan, Sky rocks: Tilak does the icing on the cake

Coming down to chase a huge target, MI lost their skipper in the first over for zero to Rishi Dhawan. 

However, Ishan Kishan and Surya Kumar Yadav took the chase to the next level with some sensational hitting. The former was dismissed for an outstanding 75 off 41 and Sky departed for 66 off 31. 

Tilka Verma and Tim David took care of the rest as they finished the game with seven balls to go. Tilak, another great talent, was unbeaten for 26 off 10 with three huge sixes and a boundary included in it. David was unbeaten for 19 off 10. 

Ishan Kishan has been named the Man of the Match.
