Ponniyin Selvan 2: Plot
The story of the film continues with the following adventures of the young prince Arulmozhi Varman as he navigates the complex politics and power struggles of the Chola dynasty. The first part ended with a sequence that is like a cliffhanger and left the fans with an intense thrill. Ponniyin Selvan is a historical Tamil novel by Kalki Krishnamurthy, set in the 10th century during the reign of the Chola dynasty. The story follows the life of the young prince Arulmozhi Varman, who is poised to become the next Chola king. The second part of the novel picks up where the first part left off and continues to follow Arulmozhi Varman’s journey.
As Arulmozhi Varman continues on his quest to uncover the conspiracy against his family, he faces several challenges and obstacles. He also meets new allies and makes new enemies along the way. One of his most significant challenges is dealing with the cunning and manipulative Pazhuvettaraiyar, who is the prime suspect in the conspiracy against the Chola dynasty.
The real enemy of them is Karikalan. The brother of Karikalan becomes dead and after hearing this he will charge like a mad elephant. The second part contains several fighting sequences. As the trailer continues there is a beautiful lady comes to her father and said that Arunmozhi has met with a mute woman in Lanka.
The twist comes from this point when a question arises about the mute woman. The woman was no one but Nandini aka Aishwarya Rai. Nandini was eager to destroy the Cholas. However, Chole dynasty the most difficult time has come due to the division of the Chole kingdom against the emperor. Now, the main fact is Nandini is still alive. The second part contains a twist in every second.
Arulmozhi Varman also finds himself caught in a love triangle with the beautiful and intelligent Nandhini, and his childhood friend and lover, Vanathi. Nandhini’s true motives are shrouded in mystery, and Arulmozhi Varman must navigate the complicated web of love and politics to uncover the truth. There are several fights and wars ensued and blood was shed on the scenes of which that may follow, but there is no leave for Nandini for the royal throne.
The second part of Ponniyin Selvan is filled with political intrigue, romance, and action as Arulmozhi Varman comes closer to discovering the truth about the conspiracy against his family. The novel ends with a cliffhanger that leaves readers eagerly awaiting the next installment.
This film marked the second collaboration of Adishwara with the South Actor Vikram that has been acclaimed critically by Ravan in 2010 the South collaboration of director Mani Ratnam after Iravat in 1977.

The second part has been produced by Subaskaran’s Lyca Productions. The film has been jointly produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions. AR Rahman is the music composer and Mani Ratnam is the director.
Ponniyin Selvan 2 OTT Release Date
Ponniyin Selvan 2 has declared that the film will hit on OTT giant Amazon Prime Video. They have got the rights to the film as it did for its first chapter. With so much love pouring in for PS 2, the movie might not be able to hit the digital space until about five weeks after its theatrical release.
The film hit the theatres on 28th April 2023. We are expecting that the movie might hit the streaming platform by the second or third week of June. However, we are still waiting for the official announcement.
