Gumraah is a crime thriller movie and is directed by debutant director Vardhan Ketkar. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios. Gumraah is a remake of a Tamil movie named Thadam. Mithoon, Vishal Mishra, Tanishk Bagchi, and Abhijit Vaghani have composed songs for the film. The movie stars Aditya Roy Kapur, in a dual role along with Mrunal Thakur and Ronit Roy. Gumraah was released in theatres on 7th April 2023.
Gumraah tells us a story that follows sub-Inspector Shivani Mathur who is assigned to investigate a man’s murder. She finds two look-alike suspects, who don’t know the existence of each other and things become more complicated for Shivani when she uncovers new facts about the case. So, in order to know the ending or the plot in detail one has to go to the theatres to watch the movie.
Gumraah: Latest box office collection of Aditya Roy Kapoor’s new movie
Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur’s recently released film Gumraah is struggling at the box office from day 1 itself. Now, six days after its release it is still struggling to make a business of Rs 10 crore at the box office. It has managed to collect Rs 5.40 crore at the box office 6 days after its release.
It seems that there is no revival for Gumraah now as theatres remain empty after one week of the release of the movie. This comes right after Aditya’s much-praised performance in The Night Manager. At this rate, the film could soon be removed from theatres.
Gumraah has received mixed reviews from the audience as well as critics. But the movie was not able to make business at the box office. According to reports, on the 6th Day i.e. 12th of April, the film saw a huge drop again. It was able to make a business of only Rs 50 lakh at the box office reportedly which is quite a low number for a movie starring celebrities like Aditya and Mrunal. It was seen that Gumraah is facing competition from recent releases like Nani’s Dasara and Ajay Devgn’s Bholaa. Meanwhile, the film had an overall 7.54 percent Hindi Occupancy on 12th April 2023.
