Jamshedpur FC begin Grassroots Football Schools with Hill Top School, Telco

Jamshedpur FC started its Grassroots Football Schools initiative today with Hill Top School, Jamshedpur. The start of the Football Schools initiative with Hill Top School was met with a great response, with as many as 30 students turning up on day one and more expected to be added as the program continues in the coming days and weeks.

“It is very important to achieve a balance between academics and sports and we believe there should be an all-round development of a child,” Hill Top School’s Acting Principal, Ms. Uma Tiwary said.

“When a child is very small it is easy to mould the child into what we want them to be and when we create an interest in sports from the start, students will take the game more seriously.

“The Baby League has been an enriching experience for our children and the parents have given some very positive feedback, so I’m thankful to Jamshedpur FC for organising this program and adding our school to it.”

The collaboration with Hill Top school comes after Jamshedpur FC restarted the Grassroots Football Schools initiative after a three year hiatus and began the latest program at Jamshedpur Public School, Carmel Junior College and Loyola School in the city of Jamshedpur.

The children involved with the Football Schools program have been placed in four categories depending on their ages, namely Under 7, Under 9, Under 11 and Under 13. A number of coaches have been assigned specifically for this program, namely Sarabjeet Sagar Mukhi, Yadav Choudhary, and Lakkhi Kumar Ghogra.

The program will be held three days a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at Hill Top School Ground, Telco.

The players will also get an opportunity to showcase the skills learned at the Football Schools training centres at the Jamshedpur Golden Baby League 2023, which features children from schools across Jamshedpur competing in matches across several age categories every Sunday morning at Archery Ground at the JRD Sports Complex.
