RC Lens striker Lois Openda has scored the fastest hat-trick in the history of Ligue 1 by scoring three goals in a five minute span. The forward achieved this feat between the 30th and 35th minute, and also provided an assist to round up a remarkable display.
The 23-year-old is Lens’ top scorer in Ligue 1 with 12 goals, and has also provided two assists in 27 appearances so far.
Lois Openda scores fastest Ligue 1 hat-trick in just five minutes
Openda joined Lens this summer from Club Brugge in his native Belgium, and is having a remarkable debut season in France. He has been one of the main reasons that Lens are punching above their weight in the league.
The club is currently third in the table with 54 points to their name, and are on the brink of qualifying for the Champions League next season.
Lois Openda has shown that he can be a player for the big games as well, scoring in Lens’ 3-1 win over PSG in January. And as a result, he has started to attract interest from AC Milan over a transfer in the future.
However, considering that he only just signed for the French club this summer, it will be a while before he moves unless Milan cough up a big transfer fee.
