Novak Djokovic has often divided opinion for his behaviour, and matters off the court. But there is no doubting that he is one of the greatest to have ever played tennis.

The Serb has set a new record for the most weeks spent at the number 1 spot of the ATP tour rankings. Djokovic has spent 378 weeks as the number 1 ranked player in the world. The previous record was held by Steffi Graf, who had spent 377 weeks as the number 1 until March 1997.

Novak Djokovic’s crazy records show his undisputed quality as a tennis legend

Djokovic recently tied Rafael Nadal’s record of winning 22 career Grand Slams, and could move past the Spaniard in due course.

And still he rises 💫

His record of the most points earned in a single season will be very tough to beat for anyone. In 2015, Novak Djokovic earned 16,785 points while winning 11 titles – Masters Cup, Miami, Monte Carlo, Rome, Wimbledon, Australian Open, Indian Wells, US Open, Beijing, Shanghai, Paris-Bercy.

He is also the only player to have won all nine of the Masters 1000, and has done so on two occasions. Djokovic has won the ATP Masters Cup six times, and has equalled Roger Federer in doing so. The Serb has also become the longest reigning champion with ten majors over the age of 30.

The physical conditioning and strict diet that the player follows has given him the ability to still compete and win against much younger players. And as things stand, he is showing no signs of slowing down following his recent Australian Open win.
