According to reports, Apple intends to release a new MacBook Air with a larger 15-inch display in April 2023. The display analyst Ross Young stated that the laptop will be powered by the M2 chip and will most likely support Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, according to MacRumors. While a new 13-inch MacBook Air with an OLED display is expected in 2024, the 15-inch model will most likely have a standard LCD display.
Furthermore, the 15-inch MacBook Air, like the 13-inch model, will reportedly be available with the M2 chip. In comparison to the M1 chip, the M2 chip has an 18% faster CPU, a 35% faster GPU, and a 40% faster Neural Engine, according to the company.
According to Apple, the 13-inch MacBook Air with the M2 chip can last up to 18 hours on a single charge, so the 15-inch model could get closer to 20 hours.
While the 13-inch MacBook Air with the M2 chip is limited to Wi-Fi 6, the 15-inch MacBook Air will most likely get Wi-Fi 6E. Last month, Apple updated the Mac mini with the M2 chip and Wi-Fi 6E. Bluetooth 5.3 support has also been added to several of the company’s most recent devices, and the 15-inch MacBook Air could be next.
