At its 43rd Annual General Meeting, Reliance made a lot of announcements and obviously the key one was 5G, yes, it’s here. The strategic partnership with the likes of Intel and Qualcomm already raised some questions for 5G and today Mukesh Ambani proudly announced the fact that Jio is working on 5G rollout in the country.
Jio is also designing and developing a complete 5G solution from the scratch by Jio Employees, which means it will not rely on third-party vendors for any equipment, software or service support. This complies with Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Made-in-India or ‘Atmanirbhar 5G’ and is ready to roll-out as soon as the spectrum is available.
So, according to Mukesh Ambani’s words, the ‘Atmanirbhar 5G’ will be deployed and will be available in a year’s time which is truly amazing. So, Jio 5G will be premiering for consumers sometime in 2021 and the best part being all of the existing Jio 4G customers can easily upgrade to Jio 5G as it uses an all-IP network architecture.
Not only this will enable Jio to launch a world-class 5G service in India but also when Jio’s 5G solution is proven at India-scale, Jio Platforms would be well-positioned to be an exporter of 5G solutions to other telecom operators globally, as a complete managed service.
Reliance Jio aims to transform the digital India, by providing blazing fast internet speeds to various sectors – from using 5G connected drones for agriculture to help farmers maintain their crops, to various industries which can make use of the mixed reality through ultra-speed 5G to improve productivity and obviously help in proactive medical care.
