Harry Kane has become the top scorer for Tottenham with his match-winning goal against Manchester City in the Premier League. The England captain has overtaken Jimmy Greaves, who was the previous top scorer for the club at 266 goals.
With 267 to his name, and 200 in the Premier League, Harry Kane has etched himself in the history of the club for years to come. And it isn’t a record that will be broken anytime soon, given the way things stand.
Harry Kane becomes Spurs’ new top scorer with 267th goal
The 29-year-old is now closing in on Wayne Rooney’s record of scoring 208 goals in the Premier League. On the other hand, Alan Shearer’s tally of 260 also appears increasingly achievable if he continues to stay in England.
His future, however, seems up in the air considering Spurs have not been able to win a trophy with Kane. He was linked with an ambitious transfer to Manchester City a few seasons ago, but ended up staying. And now, he is being linked with Manchester United amidst rumours that he could renew with Tottenham.
All things considered, it would really be an incredible feat if he doesn’t win any silverware to add to his goals. So, it will be yet another interesting summer transfer window for the Spurs talisman if he doesn’t renew heading into the transfer window.
