NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 GPU Box Spotted GALAX’s RTX 40 Launch Event

The high-end GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards from NVIDIA have just recently been released, but it appears that the AIBs have been well-informed about future plans that include more affordable cards like the GeForce RTX 4050.

According to the information posted by user TheBloodNinja in the NVIDIA subreddit, GALAX recently held a significant launch event for NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards. At this event, they displayed their new custom designs, including the flagship GeForce RTX 4090 SG variant, which recently broke several significant world records.

A strange box bearing the label of the GeForce RTX 4050, an unreleased NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series graphics card, was also present at the event. The box, which was next to the GeForce RTX 4080 packets under the display table, appeared to be the same size. While the GeForce RTX 4050 is unlikely to be the same size as the RTX 4090 or RTX 4050, GALAX may be employing comparable packaging for the graphics card.

Keep in mind that NVIDIA has only formally launched the RTX 4090, RTX 4080 16 GB, and RTX 4080 12 GB models.

Therefore, it is still unclear why this box was included at the GALAX launch event and why it was presented. It’s possible that GALAX printed future graphics card boxes early and someone brought them by accident to the event. We can come up with a number of explanations, but unless GALAX themselves remark on this, we won’t know.

The GeForce RTX 4050 graphics card from NVIDIA will be part of the mainstream range, but it won’t go on sale until the middle of 2023 because the green team already has a lot of mid-tier graphics cards in stock that they need to unload.
