Using a function dubbed Photo Unblur, Google claims that the Pixel 7 will let you go back through your Google Photos collection and repair previous fuzzy pictures. Similar to the Magic Eraser function introduced with the Pixel 6 so far, the feature is only available on Google’s most recent smartphones.
The Photo Unblur outcomes Google displayed in their presentation were hit-or-miss, much like the function designed to remove distractions from your images. However, some of them, like the one in the tweet below, were very stunning. The next-generation Tensor G2 processor, which powers many of the Pixel 7’s functions, is credited by the manufacturer for enabling this image processing.
According to Google, its denoising technology enables its new phones to snap low-light shots “twice as fast,” thus it also says that same technology will be applied to the photos you take with the Pixel 7.
The Pixel 6 included a function called Face Unblur that used multiple exposures to ensure that faces in the photographs it captured were clear even if there was motion blur in the background. Google has previously concentrated on decreasing blurriness with the Pixel lineup. Of course, that had no effect on the earlier pictures you had taken.
