Brighton have signed Pervis Estupinan from Villarreal as the replacement for Marc Cucurella. The player has joined the Seagulls for a fee under £15 million, around the same amount that they paid for Cucurella to Getafe a year ago.
The Spaniard recently became the most expensive left-back of all-time, joining Chelsea in a deal worth £63 million. Since his move, he has been able to have an impressive first few appearances. As a result, he has made Brighton a hefty profit despite having several years on his deal with the club.
Estupinan has signed a five-year contract with the club, and the transfer has been officially confirmed by the club on their social media accounts.

Here is what first team manager Graham Potter had to say about the new arrival: “We’re excited by what Pervis brings us and he fills a position to which we’ve been looking to add depth.
“In addition to his international experience, he has played for Villareal in the Champions League and Europa League, as well as plenty of experience in La Liga.
“We will help him to settle here in England, but we’re looking forward to working with him and seeing him in action in the Premier League.”
Pervis Estupinan was previously with Watford, but moved to Spain before he made a professional appearance.
