Adrien Rabiot will not be joining Manchester United, after talks broke down between the two parties while negotiating personal terms. The Frenchman was about to terminate his contract with Juventus when United showed their interest in him.

According to reports in Italy, Juventus could not believe their luck and had agreed a €18 million price tag with the Premier League club for the midfielder. They were previously trying to sign Frenkie De Jong from Barcelona, but were unable to convince him to join the club. Then, they decided to turn to Rabiot. But, the deal has fallen through.

Adrien Rabiot’s salary requests are considered crazy by Man United. Discussions are now in total stand-by, could only change in case Rabiot changes his mind. 🚨🇫🇷 #MUFC

The player’s agent and mother reportedly demanded a salary in excess of £300,000 per week. Only Cristiano Ronaldo, David De Gea, and Jadon Sancho are earning more than that amount at the club right now. As a result, it was unreasonable for United to extend such an offer for the player.

Despite failing to reach an agreement with Frenkie De Jong and Adrien Rabiot, United are confident of signing a top midfielder by the end of the transfer window. The club has offered to double Casemiro’s current salary in order to lure him to Old Trafford.

The amount he has been offered is around €430,000 per week, which has caused the Brazilian to think about his future even though he is an icon at Real Madrid.
