OnePlus flagship without Alert Slider will never be the same

The brand that taught to “Never Settle” and was once known to be the flagship killer with pure Android experience has seen a slight downgrade over the years as it has shifted from the values it once started with. Now with a variety of consumer products and under the roof of BBK, OnePlus has changed considerably in the last few years.

Making Oppo spin-off smartphones won’t work in India, however, the brand is still introducing new phones which clearly look to be a result of the merger. However, one of their most iconic features has to be its Alert Slider which has always been part of any OnePlus device.

However, things took a hit as it dropped it on the budget Nord lineup, and then this year OnePlus dismissed the same from the OnePlus 10R as well. Now continuing this momentum, even the upcoming flagship OnePlus 10T 5G will not be having the Alert Slider which is contradictory to the rumors previously where we thought the ultimate flagships would be spared.

If you look at the specs of the OnePlus 10T you will see that you have a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. Powered by the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, this will be a power-packed performer undoutedly along with a increase in battery.

So, this is "One" of the reasons for OnePlus to ditch the alert slider.
With the slider, they could theoretically have pulled off a 4,500mAh battery.
Plus, there's those added antennas as well.
Still, what would you have picked? A somewhat larger battery of an alert slider? pic.twitter.com/SxAiEvrolK

However, OnePlus’s justification of shaving away its own Alert Slider is again pretty lame because that slight increase will have very less impact while having the signature slider makes you different from other Android manufacturers. Personally, I love using the slider because it quickly switches profile when you are out and is very handy during work.

Sadly, this is another byproduct of OnePlus’s merger with OPPO but if you like it or not even flagships won’t come with Alert Slider! 😢
