Assassin’s Creed Infinity ‘Platform’ from Ubisoft reportedly includes a game with an Asian setting

The long-rumored title Assassin’s Creed Infinity, which is said to provide the foundation for several Assassin’s Creed experiences, might receive its first release. Project Red, allegedly being developed by Ubisoft, is thought to be an Assassin’s Creed game with an Asian setting.

Project Red was first mentioned in a report from Kotaku, however, Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier later clarified that it will be included in Assassin’s Creed Infinity rather than being a separate game.

Infinity and Asia

According to Kotaku, two of its sources have stated that the game will be set in Asia, which is consistent with recent remarks made by industry insider Jeff Grubb regarding an Assassin’s Creed game being developed that will take place in Japan.

Assassin’s Creed Infinity and its game settings were both confirmed by Ubisoft in 2021, but little else has been said about it since. Though Ubisoft has declined to even hint at what that would include, we are aware that the game is being promoted as a live-service title that will eventually serve as the platform for the entire franchise. Now that we know where the game would take place, we can probably expect to learn more about it shortly.

This is mostly because Ubisoft has promised to reveal the Assassin’s Creed series’ future to fans in September. On September 10, a new Ubisoft Forward demonstration is scheduled, and while the company stated that the event would feature numerous updates, it is anticipated that we will also see either Assassin’s Creed Infinity or the fabled Assassin’s Creed Rift.

About the Launch Date

Unfortunately, we won’t be able to play these Assassin’s Creed games until at least April 2023, even if they exist. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is one of the high-profile games that Ubisoft has said will be delayed past the fiscal year.

The other was a “premium unannounced” game that is currently thought to be Assassin’s Creed Rift. Rift was supposed to debut in February of next year to help Ubisoft’s sluggish fiscal year release schedule, but Schreier claims that it has now been postponed to spring 2023.
