Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder has commented on whether or not he thinks Antony will be leaving the club this summer. The Brazilian has been linked with a move to Manchester United over the last few weeks to potentially reunite with Erik Ten Hag.

However, the new manager of the Eredivisie champions doesn’t think that he will be leaving. There was initial contact between the two clubs for a move, with the asking price over €60 million. The deal was not pursued further in order to complete Lisandro Martinez’s signing, but it now seems unlikely that Antony will leave.

Alfred Schreuder comments on Antony’s future

Ajax manager Schreuder: “Afraid that Antony could leave? No, no. We have sold a certain amount of players and I am expecting nobody else to leave”🔴 #Ajax @TheEuropeanLad

“I really think he will stay,” Schreuder told ESPN. “Of course, we have sold a lot of players now. That has not happened in recent years.

“We have also bought players. But we have sold so many players that I assume nobody will leave.”

“I assume that no one is leaving. If we sell one more key player, it wouldn’t be good for us.”

Antony’s camp were pushing Ajax to initiate further talks with Manchester United for a transfer. But it seems like Lisandro Martinez will be the only player to make the move from Amsterdam to Manchester this summer.

The Dutch side have confirmed the arrival of Brian Brobbey from RB Leipzig on a permanent deal, and are close to announcing the signing Francisco Conceicao from Porto as well.
