Inter Miami are planning to sign Lionel Messi in the near future. The MLS side are keen to recruit some of the best talent in the world, and have the seven-time Ballon d’Or award winner on their shortlist.
It is becoming more popular for European players to spend the last few years of their career in North America. Gareth Bale, Lorenzo Insigne and Giorgio Chiellini have followed the path this season, and could soon be joined by arguably the greatest of all-time.
Inter Miami want Lionel Messi to join them
The David Beckham-owned franchise has signed Blaise Matuidi and Gonzalo Higuain in the past. And they are currently coached by Phil Neville. Given their ambitions of wanting to be a top side in the MLS, they will need to sign some of the best that they can find.
Lionel Messi has been linked with a contract extension at PSG over the last few weeks. The Argentina captain has refused to comment on his future since his main goal is the World Cup in the winter.
Based on the outcome of the tournament, the veteran could continue his career or decide to hang up his boots. But, if he is to leave PSG for a new challenge, Inter Miami will surely be on the list of potential clubs that he could go to. However, for now, it all depends on how things pan out in Qatar during the World Cup.
