Sadio Mane is really close to joining Bayern Munich this summer. The Senegalese winger has informed Liverpool of his desire to leave the club, and he has agreed a three-year deal with the Bundesliga champions already.
Liverpool received an opening bid for their star player, but it was worth only around €30 million and was rejected as a result. Following the agreement on the length of the deal, Bayern are expected to launch a new offer for their top transfer target of the summer.
Sadio Mane closing in on Bayern Munich transfer
The 30-year-old scored 16 goals and provided two assists in the Premier League this past season. His good form during the latter half of the season was key to Liverpool’s title challenge, and their progression to the Champions League final.
But with one year remaining on his current deal with the club, he is ready to move on to a new challenge. In six years with Liverpool, he has established himself as one of the best wingers in the world, and has won every trophy available to them.
With Robert Lewandowski leaving Bayern Munich this summer as well, Sadio Mane is expected to be a replacement for the Polish international although they don’t play the same position. Bayern could also have to let go of Serge Gnabry if the Germany international decides to move on and not renew his deal. As a result, it will be a very interesting transfer window to watch for the Bundesliga champions.
