The most talented and versatile actor Pankaj Tripathi coming with his new film ‘Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga’. The director of the film is Srijit Mukherji, and it is very less to how much we say about it. The trio means T-Series, Reliance Entertainment and Match Cut Productions just revealed the first trailer of the film.
The story of the film has been inspired by the true practice bizarre near the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve, the place where often people just left their elderly family members to the door the tigers to hunt and they declare reimbursement from the administration.
In this film, we will see talented c actor Pankaj Tripathi playing the role of Gangaram who is the sarpanch of the village who refused this compensation by the authorities after the attack of such wild animals on the farm and destroy it completely, controlled by his fellow villagers. After this terrible event, a fearful ambiance creates throughout the village.
Gangaram takes a decision to manipulate the government scheme via the families of people who lost their life due to tiger attacks and will be given 10 lakhs as compensation. As an admirer of the great warrior Bhagat Singh, he also decides to sacrifice himself and take the preparation to get attacked by a tiger for compensation. Sayani Gupta is playing the role of his wife trying her best to stop him. We can bet the acting of Pankaj Tripathi definitely win tour hearts.
The entire planning of Gangaram has been baffled when he visits a poacher played by Neeraj Kabi and becomes arrested for taking attempts to kill tigers. After that, the trailer just takes a sarcastic tone and the story takes a turn toward a courtroom drama film with a secret message for everyone.
The Bengali director Srijit Mukherji said, “I got inspired by the real incident of tragic practices in villages bordering the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve and I knew I had to capture it in my next. It takes great courage to sacrifice one’s life to save the family and my film revolves around this heroism with a focus on the man and nature conflict. This subject is really close to my heart and I hope it will ignite the same emotions with the audiences regarding various social issues in our society.”
This is the second Hindi film of the filmmaker Srijit Mukherji after Begam Jaan. He also has directed two episodes of the Netflix’s anthology series Ray and is now working on the Mithali Raj’s sports drama biopic Shabaash Mithu featuring Taapsee Pannu. We have seen Pankaj Tripathi for the last time in Bachchan Pandey.
KK’s Last Song from Sherdil
It is really vetted sad news that the talented singer-composer KK is no more. The popular singer died on 31st May. However, he will always be alive through his beautiful voice and songs, his last songs are from Sherdil and KK recorded the track just a few months ahead in April
In an interview, Srijit talked about his first meeting with the singer and also such unreleased track from him. Ge said, “The song is very special. It’s written by Gulzar Saab and sung by KK. And it is possibly going to be his last song for a film at least.”
