Nokia was the second top feature phone vendor in Q1 2022 after iTel- IDC

Nokia Mobile has been heaved by a strong sales trajectory for the Nokia 105 in 2022. The report also discloses that Nokia 105 is the most sold feature phone all over the world in Q1 2022.

Nokia mobile: Increase in sales

As per this report, the Feature Phone market reached 1 billion dollars in Q1 2022. While overall phone unit sales spurned 28.5% YoY to 58.9m units, the category still describes 16% of the total worldwide mobile phone sales. The top feature phone brand is Itel mobile followed by Nokia brand on the 2nd spot.

It was the top sold feature phone in Q1 2022. What is astonishing though is the presence of the next four phones in the top ranking list from Itel.

We presently posted about the Q1 2022 report from analyst firm Strategy Analytics. The report disclosed solid growth in Nokia Mobile Financials in Western Europe and North America markets. In North America, Nokia Mobile’s Year-on-Year growth was 87%, while in Western Europe it has 31% Year-on-Year growth.

Another Q1 2022 report has put Nokia smartphones in 3rd position in terms of market share in the UK. This has been possible because of a market share growth of more than 200% for these smartphones in the UK market.

In Q4 2021, Mobile grew smartphone shipments in 5 regions, has the highest ASP & tripled US smartphone shipments. It also has strong growth in overall smartphone shipments in the last quarter of 2021.

Smartphone shipments into Africa grew 13.2% year on year in Q2 2021 to total 22.8 million devices, according to the recent intuition from International Data Corporation (IDC). The firm’s Quarterly Global Mobile Phone Tracker shows that feature phone shipments increased 11.8% over the same period to a total of 26.7 million units. With a 54.0% share in Q2 2021, feature phones continue to register for the majority of the African mobile phone market due to their relative affordability and persistence.
