MSI Unveils High-End MEG 342C QD-OLED Gaming Monitor with 175Hz Quantum-Dot Refresh Rate

MSI is releasing the MEG 342C QD-OLED 34-inch gaming monitor, which features a 34-inch UWQHD screen, 175 Hz refresh rate, and 1800R curve. MSI hinted at the forthcoming debut of their gaming monitor line at Computex 2022, which features a 34-inch QD-OLED panel display.

The MSI MEG 342C QD-OLED gaming monitor features a curved display for players’ convenience, reducing neck strain and immersing them deeper in the game.

LG just announced the release of their new UltraGear monitor range, which features a 4K Nano IPS panel with realistic color and Advanced True Wide (ATW) Polarizer technology. Samsung’s Quantum Dot material is combined with OLED panel technology to create QD-OLED. Samsung claims that QD-OLED can generate higher color fidelity at lower brightness levels than LG’s existing OLED screens.

The new MSI MEG 342C QD-OLED reinvented the greatest curved gaming display with a 21:9 aspect ratio. It has a resolution of up to UWQHD (3440 x 1440) and fits most game titles with a 1800R curvature flawlessly. The pre-calibrated color in the factory stage ensures that color accuracy meets the industrial standard – Delta E 2.

When quantum dots meet OLED panel technology, it meets MSI’s highest color standard – QD Premium Color – and supports MSI True Color technology as well as the exclusive Premium Color Mode. For a realistic gaming experience and everyday casual entertainment, the color accuracy is up to 99.3 percent DCI-P3, 97.8 percent Adobe RGB, and 139.1 percent sRGB.

With the world’s fattest 0.1 ms GtG response time and 175 Hz refresh rate, you’ll always have an advantage over the competition. The latest 1800R curvature QD-OLED panel with MSI’s distinctive product design not only meets technical requirements but also incorporates tech aesthetics and gamer personalization.

The MSI MEG 342C QD-OLED is part of MSI’s MEG series, which is the company’s most high-end gaming monitor line

Not only does it have a dignified, elegant, and mythical design in terms of appearance, but it also supports MSI Gaming Intelligence, demonstrating MSI’s strength in terms of hardware and software integration.

Aside from the built-in smart processor that can be controlled remotely via a smartphone, it features Sound Tune AI noise cancellation, Smart Crosshair for never missing a shot, smart brightness for light and color temperature adjustment, and the Gaming OSD app for gamers to activate many built-in functions such as PBP/PIP, profile switching, and KVM function with just a few clicks.

When attempting to generate black hues, IPS displays can only produce ghostly greys, whereas Samsung’s QD-OLED technology emits absolute blacks.

The MSI MEG 342C QD-OLED display brings in quantum dot technology, which has been gaining traction among PC manufacturers in recent months. The new monitor from the company will also have a 0.1-millisecond reaction time and a dazzling 175Hz refresh rate.

The new monitor’s release date and price have yet to be announced by MSI. It is expected, however, to compete with Dell’s Alienware 34 QD-OLED display. The G-Sync Ultimate display certified Alienware display is presently on sale for $1,299 on Alienware.com.

Samsung will also offer the Odyssey G8QNB, a 34-inch monitor with QD-OLED technology that was initially shown at CES 2022 earlier this year. The pricing and release date for the company’s model is currently unknown.
