Emerson Palmieri will return to Chelsea at the end of the current season when his loan deal with Lyon expires. The left-back joined the Ligue 1 side on a straight loan deal with no option to buy.
Since Chelsea are still sanctioned, they have not been able to take part in any negotiations surrounding the player. And as a result, he will return to the former Champions League winners when his loan spell is completed.
Emerson Palmieri has chances of leaving Chelsea this summer
Marcos Alonso could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge. The wing-back has enjoyed a lot of game time due to Ben Chilwell’s absence this season, and has been impressive on quite a few occasions. But, he could be looking for an exit during the summer transfer window.
The priority for the 31-year-old is to return to Spain, and Barcelona have been linked with his signature when the window opens for business.
Emerson Palmieri was not the first choice when he left the Blues, and with Chilwell returning from injury next season, he could still be a back-up. If first team football is a priority for the player, he could push for an exit.
Juventus are one of the clubs monitoring the player’s situation. But, they are unable to do anything right now due to the sanctions. Once Todd Boehly’s takeover of the club is complete, we will have a definite update on the future of Emerson and whether he will finally leave the club.
