Huawei is still in the game of making foldable smartphone rivaling Samsung for a very long time. The company has faced a big loss with its Huawei Mate series still the company is exploring different techs for making the new ones better than the previous device.
Recently Huawei has been granted a design patent by China’s National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) that shows schematics of a new foldable phone with a fundamentally different folding mechanism compared to the Mate X and Mate Xs. The patent application was first spotted by LetsGoDigital.
The patent schematics show that the foldable mechanism looks different and just like the Samsung Folds it will also have a screen on the cover side but will be large in scale. The images also show that the phone will come with a quad-camera setup. The fourth sensor in the camera setup at back looks like a periscopic lens from its square design.
Surprisingly the foldable phone lacks a camera on the unfolded side or when the phone is unfolded as we can see from the image. But if we see minutely the screen on the cover side is placed on the side where the quad-camera is and just on the side of it. This indicates that there will be no issue while clicking selfies. One can click selfie by closing the phone instead of keeping it wide open.
