Previously, we spotted a Microsoft device with a new processor named Core i5-1035G1, codenamed as OEMQN Product Name EV1 has now been spotted on 3DMark and again with featuring the Core i5-1035G1. So, its real, a new Surface Book 3 with new 10th Gen Intel CPUs will be coming this year itself.
The new Core i5-1035G1 is a quad-core Ice Lake-U CPU with a 15 W default TDP along with Hyper-Threading enabled. It is basically a new 10nm chip with 1.0 GHz base clock, but can temporarily reach 3.6 GHz at 25 W using Intel Turbo Boost.
It seems the Core i5-1035G1 variant will be base variant of this new Surface Book lineup and the device is seen featuring 256 GB of SSD and 8 GB of RAM this time. It’s very unlikely to see new generations of the Surface Pro and Surface Laptop soon but the new Surface Book 3 might soon be ready to be released to the market.
However, one thing to be noticed its that this is not the same OEMQN Product Name EV1 SKU that we have seen previously meaning that this 3DMark listing is for a lower-end SKU. Previously the Surface Book 3 that appeared on UserBenchmark featured 16 GB of dual-channel RAM and 512 GB SSD.
It will interesting to see how Microsoft lines its new Surface Book 3 lineup and when exactly do we see an hardware event from them but we do not have wait too long before Microsoft showcases these Core i5-1035G1 powered machines.
