As we know TSMC is a global leader when it comes to making semiconductors and it’s been increasingly more efficient & futuristic with its new silicon, thanks to its new & smaller nodes that are making the difference. As we know TSMC’s 7nm process is widely used or has been used by the likes of Apple, AMD, NVIDIA, MediaTek and others, it has been a major revenue maker for the Taiwanese giant absolutely.
Now, its next-gen N5 or 5nm process is on the rise since the end of 2020 as Apple announced a bunch of products based on the process. As the Industry Analyst, Sravan Kundojjala shows in his tweet, TSMC’s best node is its N5 process which has overtaken its existing N7 process in just the first 7 quarters.
While TSMC’s successful N7 node brought them $14.2 billion dollars in the first seven quarters, this N5 node has brought a whopping %15.5 billion dollars in the same time frame. Obviously, the demand for the 5nm process will be skyrocketed even more because giants like AMD, NVIDIA and others will be pouncing to make new chips from TSMC, providing bulk orders.
