It was the most successful run chase by a team in the Women’s World Cup. Australia had a solid start with openers Alyssa Healy and Racheal Haynes. Together, they had a partnership of 121 runs in just 20 overs. The two opening batters departed very quickly but Lanning and Ellyse Perry had a partnership of 103 runs that helped the Australian team to reach their goal. In the end, India tried its best to keep things under control by taking Lanning’s wicket. Australia just needed eight runs to win the game in the last over. Mooney sealed the deal in the first three balls of the last over.
