Star Sports is setting the new mark for advertising revenues for the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (PL 2022). The IPL Live broadcaster has got 3200 Cr in advertising revenues from the previous year. According to sources, Star Sports is targeting a whopping amount of 4,000 Crore advertising revenue mark.
The official broadcaster has raised the rates of IPL on-air Sponsorships by 20%. Star Sports has accepted the deals with 10-12 advertisers for the 15th season of IPL.
“The belief in Disney Star is that the product is delivering on every parameter. For such a consistently performing property, advertiser doesn’t mind top dollar. The rates have increased and so will be the revenues. 4000 Crore advertising sales looks like a reality now”, informed one of the core members of the Disney Star Network Sales team.
Star Sports Network has signed deals with Cred, Dream11, Byju’s, TATA, Asian Paints, Spotify, Meesho, Swiggy Instamart, Kamla Pasand & Pepsi.
Rates for IPL 2022 ON-AIR Sponsorships
- Co-Presenting Partners: 160 Crores
- Associate Sponsors: 90 Crores
Star Sports has increased the rate of sponsorship packages & inventory rates by almost 20% vis a vis IPL 2021. The same packages were sealed at 130-140 Cr & 60-65 Cr range respectively in IPL 2021.
“IPL 2022 is very special. It will have 10 teams, will be played in India, will have new format & most importantly new composition of the teams. All of these put together has created huge amount of buzz in the market & Star is rightfully encashing this buzz”, said one of the buying heads at a leading media buying agency.
IPL 2022 Format
The Indian Premier League’s 2022 will have a new format.
All 10 IPL Teams have been divided into two groups. The rest teams in the second group will play once during the season.
- Group A: MI, KKR, RR, DC, LSG
- Group B: CSK, SRH, RCB, PBKS, GT
Each team is destined to play twice with Group A and Group B. They are supposed play two matches with team in the same row in the second group. The rest teams in the second group will play once during the season.
IPL 2022 is anticipated to commence from the third week of March and the Finale will take place in the month of May.
