OnePlus 10 Pro 5G launched with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip in China

OnePlus used a MediaTek chipset for the first time in its Nord 2 5G smartphone in 2021. The Nord 2 isn’t a flagship smartphone, which is important to remember. It’s a mid-range device from the firm, therefore the Snapdragon chipsets were still used in the company’s flagship handsets.

The OnePlus 10 series could include a handset using a MediaTek processor this time around. The OnePlus 10 series, which is slated to debut in March 2022, will be the company’s flagship series.

Which OnePlus device will use a MediaTek processor?

The OnePlus 10 is the OnePlus smartphone that is expected to come with a MediaTek processor. In 2022, OnePlus is likely to release at least two smartphones in its flagship series — the OnePlus 10 and the OnePlus 10 Pro. There may also be a OnePlus 10R. The MediaTek chipset is believed to be used in the OnePlus 10, so if there is a OnePlus 10R, it should also include a MediaTek SoC, but nothing has been verified.

The MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC could be used in the OnePlus 10 worldwide. MediaTek’s flagship SoC for 2022 is the Dimensity 9000, which was unveiled in December 2021. OnePlus is testing a smartphone using MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC, according to Yogesh Brar, a famous tipster, as well as MySmartPrice.

A combined OS from Oppo and OnePlus is also something we could see with the OnePlus 10 series. The Dimensity 9000 SoC is a strong 4nm chipset.

The OnePlus 10 series is about to go global, and there isn’t much time left. It will be the first time OnePlus releases a premium smartphone with a MediaTek processor. This might be due to a global chip scarcity, or it could be because OnePlus is receiving the chipset from MediaTek at a reduced price.
