John Obi Mikel has termed his former Chelsea teammate Hazard as the “laziest”.
John Obi Mikel and Eden Hazard shared the same dressing room at Chelsea for four seasons. Hazard arrived at Chelsea from Lille in 2012.
Hazard made 352 appearances for the club, scoring 110 goals. He became Chelsea’s main man and led them to Premier League as well as Europa League titles in his time at the Stamford Bridge.
In the recently concluded summer transfer window, he completed a coveted €100million move to the LaLiga giants Real Madrid. The move was on the cards from last season. After the 2018 World Cup, Hazard went public with his wish.
John Obi Mikel, a Champions League winner with Chelsea, has no doubt over Hazard’s incredible talent but also labeled him as the “laziest” player he has trained alongside.
Mikel told beIN SPORTS in Turkey: “Hazard has incredible talent. Maybe not as good as [Lionel] Messi, but he can do whatever he wants with the ball at his feet.
“He didn’t like to train hard. While we were working he was waiting for us to finish training just standing there. But on Sundays he was always man of the match, it was unbelievable.”
Mikel also said that current Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is the hardest trainer he has seen.
