Netflix has become very pricey now as the streaming giant has increased its monthly subscription prices in the USA. The price of the standard plan is $15.50 per month which has been increased from $14. Netflix is planning to hike its price to $20/month from $18. The basic plan went to $10/month from $9.
The Verge has got all the pricing details for Netflix. The new subscribers will be paying the increased rates immediately with the price for the existing members will rise gradually.
Price hikes are normal for Netflix and it increases every two years. A Netflix Spokesperson told Reuters “We’re updating our prices so that we can continue to offer a wide variety of quality entertainment options. As always we offer a range of plans so members can pick a price that works for their budget,”
Netflix has currently 214 million subscribers globally and is the biggest player across the streaming space. It has 74 million subscribers in North America, which is the worldwide region affected by the price hikes.
A per reports, Netflix will film two Red Notice sequels back to back following the huge success of the first movie.

The plans are based on the number of screens users can simultaneously stream videos on the number of devices and can download the videos. Though the DVD service by the mail requires a separate plan. The increase in price in Netflix plans for the USA and Canada users took an effect immediately for the new customers. The existing subscribers will get to see the new prices in the next weeks when they receive their monthly bills.
