Brian Brobbey could be on his way back to Ajax. According to renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the negotiations are in the final stages between his current club, RB Leipzig and Ajax.

The striker joined Leipzig this summer itself, and signed a contract until 2025. But, the departure of Julian Nagelsmann to Bayern Munich has changed his mind about a future at the club. He was previously an Ajax player, having joined them since the age of 8.

Although Ajax were keen to extend his contract last year, he decided to move away and chose Germany as his next destination. However, things did not go as expected for the talented youngster.

Brian Brobbey’s comeback to Ajax is now at final stages. Negotiation advanced with RB Leipzig to sign Brobbey on loan paying 100% of his salary. No buy option included, as per @MikeVerweij. 🔴 #Ajax

What has Erik Ten Hag said about Brian Brobbey?

Ajax manager Erik Ten Hag was asked about the possibility of signing Brian Brobbey once more, and here is what he had to say:

“I would like to. I indicated it to [director of football] Marc [Overmars], who is also working on it.”

When asked whether the move was likely to happen, Ten Hag said: “I don’t know if it is possible. I have talked with him about that but he hasn’t spoken out loud that he wants to stay here and I understand that since he just signed there.

“He’s not even there yet and I don’t know if Leipzig is open to that.”

Ajax will be signing him on a loan deal and will be paying all of his wages. There is no option to buy the player included in the deal.
