Lancer Capital has made a historic move into cricket by acquiring a franchise in the UAE T20 League. As per reports the Glazers are buying team in the Emirates league . Reliance Industries that own Mumbai Indian (MI) and Shah Rukh Khan’s Owned KKR are also owning teams in the league. Owners of Delhi Capitals (DC) GMR, have also bought teams in the 6-team league.
Avram Glazer, the co-chairman of Football’s Premier League since 2005 has also made his investments in a variety of sports properties like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Super Bowl.
Lancer Capital has several high-class investments. Its chairman, Avie Glazer owns the Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Apart from this he has been the co-chairman of Manchester United since 2005. The team has lifted the trophy most of the times in English football.

For the vice chairman of UAE T20 League, Khalid Al Zarooni, having a partner like Avie Glazier who has long term investments in sports properties, is surely going to benefit the league and strengthen the UAE T20 League’s business model and its value proposition to the stakeholders.
The UAE T20 League is a franchise-based T20 format cricket tournament with six teams competing in a 34-match game. It will be held annually just like the Indian Premier League (IPL). Indian broadcaster Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) will be telecasting the tournament for 1o years. Glazer believes that it will be a world class event that will transform the entire image of cricket in the emirates.
