Steam creates history with a record-breaking 27 million online active users

Valve’s platform has eclipsed the previous year’s usage record, with more than 27 million users online at one moment at the time of writing. On November 28th, Steam broke a new milestone for the number of concurrent online users, surpassing 27 million.

According to SteamDB statistics, Steam reached a new historical high of 27,182,165 concurrent online users today. This exceeded Steam’s previous record of 26.9 million concurrent online users, which was achieved in April.

This is a significant achievement for Steam. Due to the coronavirus outbreak last year, Steam broke the record for the most simultaneous online users six times.

According to reports, “Counter-Strike: Global Offensive,” a first-person competitive shooting game, topped the list with an astonishing 849,144 simultaneous online gamers. Valve’s MOBA game “Dota 2” came in second with 663,561 concurrent online users.

With 241,902 players, the battle royale game “PUBG” came in third place. “Apex Heroes” by Respawn and “New World” by Amazon ranked in the top five, while “GTA5”, “Team Fortress 2”, “Corrosion”, “MIR4”, and “Wallpaper Engine” were in the top ten.

Steam is presently running an autumn sale. The offer is valid through December 1st and presently includes titles such as Hades, Wild Outside, and Monster Hunter: World. The price of each game has been decreased by 30-40%. The cheapest wild outdoors is 11.69 pounds. Roguelike Hades is now available for £13.64 while Monster Hunter: World is available for £16.49. There are big reductions throughout Steam’s catalog, including Disco Elysium: Final Cut, which is now £17.49.

The cost of AAA games has also decreased. Cyberpunk 2077 is currently available for £24.99. Horizon: Zero Dawn and Deathloop are both 50% off their current prices.

A group of enthusiasts successfully reverse-engineered The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time in other areas. The programming has been converted into a more recognizable and approachable language, making PC ports and even customizations possible.
