Clubs will be able to spend on new recruits in the January transfer window, and the budgets for these clubs have been compiled. The Daily Mail has compiled a list of exactly how much the Premier League teams will be allowed to spend. Let’s take a look at it:

1. Tottenham Hotspur – £400m

2. Liverpool – £273m

3. Manchester United – £243m

4. Chelsea – £241m

5. Arsenal – £201m

6. Burnley – £171m

7. Newcastle United – £166m

8. Leeds United – £99m

9. Norwich City – £92m

10. Brentford – £88m

11. Brighton – £85m

12. Manchester City – £84m

13. Leicester City – £79m

14. West Ham United – £71m

15. Wolves – £70m

16. Crystal Palace – £66m

17. Watford – £60m

18. Southampton – £37m

19. Aston Villa – £5m

20. Everton – minus £35m

Antonio Conte will have the biggest transfer budget heading into the January transfer window. But, Spurs are a more business-oriented club. They don’t match the mentality of winning trophies at any cost. As a result, it remains to be seen exactly how much Conte will be allowed to spend.

Newcastle United are now the richest club in the world, following their takeover. Eddie Howe was recently appointed as their new coach and will have a maximum budget of £166 million for the January transfer window. Newcastle’s budget ranks 7th in the list, and Howe will be allowed to make signings in some capacity at the very least.

Surprisingly, Burnley are above Newcastle in the list, with a potential £166 million available to spend. However, it seems unlikely that they will break the pattern and turn to heavy spending in the transfer market.

Following their £100 million signing of Jack Grealish in the summer, Manchester City are in 12th place with a budget worth £84 million allowed for the midseason window.
