Manchester United are currently not planning to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the manager of the club. The board had a meeting about the future of the club following the 5-0 humiliation of the team at Old Trafford.
Solskjaer completed the training session at United’s training ground, Carrington today. Sir Alex Ferguson was also there at the training session. The general feeling among the staff is that he is staying at the club. The board are not going to sack him prior to the Tottenham game this weekend. However, the pressure is on the Norwegian to bring in good results if he is to continue as the manager of the club.
The upcoming games are very hard for Solskjaer since he will have to face Atalanta and Manchester City after taking on Spurs this weekend. Failure to produce good results in the upcoming games might result in the board going back on their decision and relieving him of his duties.
Antonio Conte has been heavily rumoured as the replacement for Solskjaer. The Italian has been out of a job since leaving Inter Milan, and would be ready to accept the job at Old Trafford. He previously managed Chelsea in England and won the league with them in his very first campaign in-charge.
Manchester United have not initiated formal talks with Conte yet. But, the general feeling surrounding the situation is that he will accept United’s offer to return to the Premier League.
