Chelsea thrashed Norwich City in a humongous 7-0 win at home. Mason Mount scored a hat-trick as the Blues ran riot against the Canaries at Stamford Bridge. In the process, Mount became the 17th unique goalscorer in the Chelsea lineup as Callum Hudson-Odoi, Reece James and Ben Chilwell added their names to the scoresheet.

The European champions were without Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner. As a result, Thomas Tuchel had to turn to Kai Havertz to lead the line with Callum Hudson-Odoi and Mason Mount deployed behind the German forward.

The visitors spent 25 minutes with 10 men as Ben Gibson was sent off in the 65th minute. His first yellow card came in the second half, at 55 minutes. Ten minutes later, he had another yellow card to his name and was sent off with the scoreline reading 5-0.

Chelsea had a penalty which was taken by Mason Mount, and subsequently saved by Tim Krul. The referee ordered a retake for the penalty since the Dutch keeper was off of his line. Mason Mount made no mistake the second time, and made it 6-0.

Shortly after, Mount got his hat-trick in stoppage time with Ruben Loftus-Cheek providing a very good assist. All the Chelsea players showed great quality, while Norwich City lacked the conviction to challenge the Blues in front of their home crowd. They are still rooted to the bottom of the table and have little chances to climb out of the relegation zone. The Blues, on the other hand, find themselves at the top of the table this weekend.
