Microsoft has a Surface-related announcement event lined up for the end of September. The company put up a tweet that doesn’t provide much context, with a link of a Microsoft page that’s equally devoid of information. All that being said, the accompanying image does indicate that it will indeed be related to the Microsoft Surface line of products.
The official event website does not offer any indications about what products Microsoft plans to unveil, beyond the outline of a 2-in-1 device, so a Surface Pro or a Surface Go. Regardless, it confirms that the event will commence on September 22 at 11:00 ET (UTC-04:00).
There is also talk of a successor to the Microsoft Surface Duo popping up as well. The device itself launched with relatively little fanfare, at least compared to its initial announcement. According to Slashgear, the Surface Duo 2 will come with a triple camera setup, and is otherwise mostly similar to he original on the outside.
We’ve also heard rumors that Microsoft is planning a successor to the Surface Book 3 soon, although it might drop the Surface Book moniker for something like the Surface Laptop Pro. Rather than a fully detachable display, this device might offer a screen with two hinges, which can be pulled forward and angled flat to use in tablet mode.
The event itself is slated for 22 September, at 11PM. Which lines up quite nicely for the upcoming Windows 11 launch on 5 October. We’ll know for sure what sort of new hardware the company has in store when that happens.
