Chelsea are looking to free up their books a little more before the transfer window shuts down. A number of loan deals are being considered for fringe players still this summer.

Malang Sarr is a target for Serie A club Bologna, while Davide Zappacosta is close to joining Fiorentina on loan with an option to buy in the future. Tiemoue Bakayoko is expected to reach an agreement to join AC Milan soon, while Ike Ugbo’s future will be clarified soon.

The Blues have already offloaded several players this window, with the likes of Emerson, Michy Batshuayi, Billy Gilmour, Armando Broja, Connor Gallagher and Kennedy already having left on loan deals. Players like Fikayo Tomori, Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud have been sold to AC Milan and Roma, with Italy appearing to be the most common destination for these players.

Chelsea are waiting to find clarity about the situation of departures prior to making a decision about their pursuit of Jules Kounde or Saul. The European Champions were interested in Kounde, but did not make an official bid for him. They maintain their interest in the defender, and could yet launch a late bid to sign him.

Saul of Atletico Madrid has also emerged as a late target for the Blues, as Chelsea consider adding the talented midfielder to their ranks. The Spaniard has been linked with several ways out of the club this summer, and a move to London could materialise if Chelsea act quickly to seal the deal.
