Real Madrid: Eden Hazard brings a positive surprise with his physical condition

Real Madrid fans will be ecstatic after a shocking exposé on Eden Hazard’s physical condition was broadcast on Spanish television show El Chiringuito. Hazard, who was away with Belgium for the Euros this summer, has astonished Edu Aguirre by how skinny he’s returned to Real Madrid.

Since joining Los Blancos from Chelsea, the silky forward has been chastised for his physical condition, with the 30-year-old appearing to be somewhat heavy at times. It’s surprising to hear this news from El Chiringuito, who made a scapegoat of Hazard when his former club Chelsea defeated Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final last season.

Hazard, who has always been regarded as a special player with immense attacking talent, has had a series of persistent injury-related struggles during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu. Whenever he is fit, he makes sure to bring that impact onto the pitch. When he was handed the number 7 jersey, the fans laid their eyes upon him with huge expectations.

This is a seemingly natural behaviour, since that jersey was dawned by Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese ended up being the club’s all-time top scorer, helping them win 4 UCL titles in the process. Him being Real Madrid’s saviour on multiple occasions on the biggest stage has understandably created pressure on anyone the club chooses as a successor.

Hazard’s brilliance at Chelsea is proof of the quality he can stir into matches of the top drawer. The Belgian’s close control and incisive dribbling have always induced fear in opposition defenders. His ability to create things in the final is always a factor that helps his side to gain control.

With his improved shape in the pre-season, Eden Hazard has set a good base for himself to build on. If he can avoid the injuries this season, he is bound to pick up a good pace eventually. 2021-22 could turn out to be a great season for Hazard. Time will tell whether it will materialize.
