Free TV isn’t disappearing either. Spain’s matches will stay on the national free-to-air broadcaster, and both semi-finals and the final will be on free television. Details on that partnership will follow closer to the tournament.

Why 2030 Is Special?
The 2030 FIFA World Cup marks the 100th anniversary of the first tournament. It will be the first World Cup with matches across three continents, and special centenary matches will take place in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.
The timing is neat for Spain. Spain beat Argentina 1-0 after extra time in the 2026 final, so they’ll host as defending champions.
Netflix’s Growing Football Footprint
This isn’t Netflix’s first FIFA deal. It also holds US and Canadian rights to the 2027 and 2031 FIFA Women’s World Cups. Its live lineup already spans NFL, MLB, WWE and major boxing and MMA fights. Explore more in our sports coverage.
In the words of Netflix’s content chief, welcoming the world as reigning champions on Netflix will make this “a moment unlike any other.”
