When a studio shows off its greatest hits, what it leaves out says plenty. David Ellison’s new sizzle reel for the merged Paramount and Warner Bros. studio, now called Skydance, featured several DC heroes, but not a single frame from Zack Snyder’s DCEU. For more DC news, follow TechnoSports.

What Was (and Wasn’t) in the Video?
Ahead of the acquisition’s completion, the reel included clips from three DC franchises. Superman was the only DCU project featured, with no Supergirl, Peacemaker, Creature Commandos or Lanterns. Robert Pattinson’s Batman appeared, and so did shots from Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. But there was no Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck or Gal Gadot, and nothing from the DCEU.

The reel focused mostly on films and big IPs, so the omission may not be a deliberate snub. Still, The Direct reads it as a sign that the SnyderVerse is far from Ellison’s mind.
DC Still Has a Special Place
The DC logo appeared third in the reel, behind only Paramount and Warner Bros., and later sat beside HBO Max, CBS, CNN and Nickelodeon. James Gunn even shared the video online. Ellison reportedly backed the DC strategy and sees it as a pillar of his plan to release 30 theatrical films a year, according to reports.
So What About Snyder?
Fans got excited when Snyder teased a “new project” from the Paramount lot, but it’s likely his UFC film, Brawlers. His indie war drama The Last Photograph also scored 17% on Rotten Tomatoes after its TIFF premiere, per The Direct. Snyder has said he’d like to adapt The Dark Knight Returns, and his friendship with Gunn could matter someday, but nothing is planned.
