After rumours of Raphael Varane leaving Real Madrid probably on a transfer move to Old Trafford, but after Manchester United’s first bid, the rumours turned out to be true. Therefore they have begun the search for potential replacements for Raphael Varane.
After former Real Madrid Captain Sergio Ramos departs from Santiago Bernabeu, it’s now the second pillar of Real’s defence looking for a move to Manchester united.
According to several reports, Raphael Varane has considerable interest in the Manchester United transfer move and is keen to play for the Red Devils in the upcoming season.
However, if Raphael Varane leaves, Real Madrid will definitely need to sign a key centre-back and one preferably who would serve Real Madrid in the long run.
Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has identified Leicester defender Wesley Fofana as a possible long term replacement for Varane and will be able to replicate Varane’s technical qualities on the pitch.
Reports emerged that last week Manchester United had submitted a bid of € 55 million EUR but Real Madrid have apparently rejected their bid. Real Madrid President Florentino Perez when asked about this responded that Raphael Varane is currently concentrating on the ongoing Euros and a decision will be made after he return and joins the Real Camp.
Frank Leboeuf was interviewed by ESPN and was asked about his opinion on the transfer new to which he replied “We know the history of Man United but we are talking about the past.”
“They finished in second place in the league but I’m not sure it’s a goal for everyone to go to Manchester United now unless they have three or four new signings coming in as well so they can challenge Manchester City and Liverpool next season.
“I don’t know what Raphael Varane ’s goal is but I’d have some questions before going to Manchester United.”
Raphael Varane has made 360 appearances for Real Madrid in his time at the Santiago Bernabeu.
