Why the Date Changed?
The October slot put the film head-to-head with Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2. Dhanush, who is also a producer on the project, confirmed the postponement himself. He also pointed to another big release in the way: Suriya’s Scene, which is slated for November 6. Two heavyweight clashes would have split screens and audiences, so the team chose to wait for a cleaner window.
Anyone who has watched a great film get squeezed at the box office will understand the call. A solo release gives a big action drama room to breathe, build word of mouth and hold its screens through the opening weekend.
What to Expect?
Dhanush leads the film, and Mammootty joins him in a pivotal role. That pairing alone has fans buzzing across Tamil and Malayalam cinema. Add Sai Pallavi, Sreeleela and the veteran Naseeruddin Shah, and the ensemble looks stacked. With Sai Abhyankkar handling songs and background score, the music should be a big part of the experience too.
Since this is Chapter 1 of a planned two-part franchise, expect the story to set up a larger world rather than wrap everything in one go.
What’s Next for the Stars?
Dhanush is already lining up his next projects. He has an action entertainer with director Tamizharasan Pachamuthu, tentatively titled D56 and planned for Summer 2027, and he has announced Thamizh Murugan with Vetrimaaran. Mammootty is shooting Mela and is expected to appear in Padayaatra with Adoor Gopalakrishnan, their reunion after 32 years.
