Dynamic Duo is an animated theatrical film that reimagines Dick Grayson and Jason Todd as childhood friends growing up on Gotham’s streets. Dick eventually becomes Robin beside Batman, while Jason joins the Red Hood Gang. In 2025, DC’s official site reportedly described the film as DCU canon. Now Logan Kim, who voices Jason, answered “No” in a since-deleted Instagram comment when asked if it’s canon. That’s an actor’s reply, not a studio announcement, so treat it as strong but unofficial.

Why Standalone Could Be Better?
If Dynamic Duo is separate, it works as an Elseworlds story like Matt Reeves’ The Batman. That frees the filmmakers to rewrite Robin lore without continuity limits. In the comics, Jason replaces Dick as Robin, but here they grow up together as friends.
It also avoids a practical headache. The DCU is still guarding Batman’s mystery, so showing a fully formed Gotham with both Robins would clash with the bigger plans for The Brave and the Bold.
