Apple has quietly published its out-of-warranty repair pricing for the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and if you were hoping for a pleasant surprise, brace yourself: it’s basically a copy-paste of the iPhone 17 Pro Max’s price list — with exactly one line item nudged upward.

iPhone 18 Pro Max Repair Costs: The Numbers, Side by Side

According to Apple’s official support page, here’s how the iPhone 18 Pro Max stacks up against its two immediate predecessors:

Repair Type	iPhone 18 Pro Max	iPhone 17 Pro Max	iPhone 16 Pro Max
Battery service	₹13,900	₹12,900	₹12,900
Back glass damage	₹16,900	₹16,900	₹16,900
Rear camera damage	₹28,900	₹28,900	₹28,900
Screen damage	₹42,900	₹42,900	₹42,900
Screen + back glass damage	₹51,900	₹51,900	₹51,900
Other damage	₹1,17,900	₹1,17,900	₹1,08,900

The only genuine change year-over-year? Battery service climbs by ₹1,000, from ₹12,900 to ₹13,900. Every other repair category — back glass, camera, screen, and combined screen-plus-back-glass damage — is priced identically to the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Curiously, the “other damage” catch-all category, which covers internal component failures beyond the standard list, also jumped from ₹1,08,900 (iPhone 16 Pro Max) to ₹1,17,900 for both the 17 and 18 Pro Max.

iPhone 18 Pro Max Repair Costs Are Live — And Apple Barely Changed a Thing

Why the Battery Price Went Up

A pricier battery service typically points to either a larger-capacity cell or a redesigned battery module that costs Apple more to source and replace. Either way, it’s a small but telling signal — everything else about the Pro Max’s internals seems to have carried over structurally, at least from a repairability and parts-cost standpoint.

AppleCare+ or Bare-Knuckle Risk? The Real Math

This is where the decision gets interesting. A single screen damage repair on the iPhone 18 Pro Max costs ₹42,900 out of pocket — nearly a third of what some mid-range phones cost outright. Compare that to Apple’s typical AppleCare+ accidental damage deductible, which industry pricing trackers report sitting around ₹2,500–₹5,000 per incident for screen or back glass damage.

Run the math on just one drop: paying full price for a cracked screen (₹42,900) versus paying an AppleCare+ premium plus a ₹2,500 deductible makes the coverage look like a no-brainer — provided you’re someone who’s dropped a phone at least once in the last two years. If your track record with phones is spotless, self-insuring and paying out of pocket if disaster strikes might still work out cheaper over time.

FAQ

1. Is iPhone 18 Pro Max repair pricing officially confirmed?
Yes, the estimates come directly from Apple’s own device service pricing tool.

2. What’s the only repair cost that changed from the iPhone 17 Pro Max?
Battery service, which increased from ₹12,900 to ₹13,900.

For most repair types, yes — deductibles are typically a fraction of the out-of-warranty cost, especially for screen and back glass damage.

5. Are third-party repair costs cheaper than Apple’s official pricing?
Often yes, but they may use non-OEM parts and can affect resale value or warranty eligibility — always weigh cost against quality and long-term device value.

Whether you spring for AppleCare+ or take your chances, one thing is certain — dropping the iPhone 18 Pro Max without a safety net is an expensive gamble. For more iPhone pricing breakdowns, comparisons, and buying guides, stay tuned to TechnoSports Tech.
